Longview, WA– In an ongoing effort to revitalize Willow Grove Park & Boat Launch, the Port of Longview began construction this week on a new Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessible walking path. The six-foot wide walking path will circle the entire playground and include three new picnic table areas.
“The feedback we’ve been receiving on Willow Grove has been extremely gratifying,” said Commission President, Jeff Wilson. “It’s wonderful to see so many people enjoying the new park amenities.”
The playground will be open during construction, but visitors to the park should use caution around the immediate area. Project completion is slated for the end of June.
Willow Grove Park is a 75-acre waterfront facility that provides the community prime access to the Columbia River while giving park patrons a front row view of cargo vessels headed to the Port of Longview. With improvements to infrastructure, such as waterlines and pavement, boat launch dredging and repairs to picnic areas, the Port of Longview is making huge strides to provide the community with a local place to boat, fish and play on the Columbia River.
