The Port of Longview works with a variety of funding partners. Partnerships help maximize the Port's ability to build infrastructure and create a progressive environment for new business. Port district residents can look forward to new jobs, an expanded tax base and a better economy.
The Industrial Rail Corridor is the single largest project undertaken by the Port. It could not have been built without the assistance of federal, state and local partners.
This project received federal funding through the Transportation Equity Act for the 21st Century (TEA-21) legislation. The State of Washington provided Freight Mobility Strategic Investment Board funds and Transportation Improvement Board funds. Cowlitz County provided a $2 million rail grant. The Port of Longview also provided funding for this project.
For the improvements to International Way the Port was awarded a Rural Economic Vitality Program grant from the Washington State Department of Transportation. In partnership with Cowlitz County the project was also financed with Road Improvement District (RID) and Local Improvement District (LID) funds established to upgrade the existing roadway and utilities serving the industrial site.
The Brown-Strauss Steel building was constructed with a loan from the Community Economic Revitalization Board (CERB). Previous projects have recieved funding through the The Washington State Department of Community Trade and Economic Development (CTED).
