Security
The Port of Longview is a secure port, as regulated by the United States Coast Guard.
Since 9/11, the Port has added security fencing, video surveillance and guards to man the Port 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Access to the Port is only granted to those conducting business that have a TWIC card. Those without a TWIC card must be escorted by security.
What is a TWIC card? TWIC stands for Transportation Worker Identification Credentials. Each employee, vendor, longshoreman and customer requiring unescorted access to the secured areas of the Port must obtain their TWIC card from the Department of Homeland Security. The Port security is provided by a third-party contractor under the direct supervision of our Facility Security Officer. Security operates as outlined in our Coast Guard approved and audited Facility Security Plan. Regular training and drills are conducted in accordance with Federal requirements to ensure the Port is safe and secure.
